Online Access
The Cataloging Distribution Service (CDS) of the Library of Congress
and the American Library Association (ALA) have signed an agreement
to incorporate the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2), 2nd
edition into Catalogers Desktop, CDSs integrated, online
cataloging documentation system.
Catalogers Desktop provides access to AACR2 and the most
heavily used cataloging publications, with extensive hypertext linking
between AACR2, the Library of Congress Rule Interpretations (LCRIs),
as well as AACR2 Rule Interpretations of Library and Archives Canada,
and the MARC 21 formats. Desktops quarterly update schedule
keeps the links between AACR2 and dozens of critical cataloging
tools up-to-date.
Additional information about Catalogers Desktop is available
